Eight-Day Northern Botswana
Overview
This 8-day/7-night itinerary (with 2 nights each in four iconic areas) follows a classic northbound route through Botswana's premier wilderness: the watery Okavango Delta in Moremi, the predator-packed Khwai Concession the dramatic Savuti Marsh in Chobe National Park, and the elephant-rich Chobe Riverfront. It starts in Maun (easy access via flights) and ends in Kasane. Wildlife is more dispersed in dry season, but sightings remain rewarding with fewer crowds and magical light.

Itenary

Days 1-2: Moremi Game Reserve (Xakanaxa/Third Bridge Area – 2 Nights)
Day 1: Arrive Maun; Road transfer Moremi Game Reserve. Afternoon game drive through mopane woodlands and floodplains – elephants, giraffes, red lechwe, buffalo.

Day 2: Early boat cruise gliding through reed channels for hippos, crocs, sitatunga, and birds. Afternoon game drive – lions, wild dogs possible.

Days 3-4: Khwai Concession (2 Nights)
Day 3: Morning Moremi activity; short game drive transfer (~1-2 hours) to Khwai. Afternoon game drive along Khwai River – elephants crossing, buffalo, leopards in trees.

Day 4: Dawn game drive for predators (leopards/wild dogs high here). Afternoon mokoro or bush walk; evening night drive – nocturnal highlights like genets, porcupines, hunting cats.

Days 5-6: Savuti (Chobe National Park – 2 Nights)
Day 5: Morning activity in Khwai; game drive transfer south (~5-7 hours, scenic with sightings). Afternoon explore Savuti Marsh – lions (famous for elephant hunts), hyenas, zebra herds.
